Starting at the top left-hand corner of a sheet of lined notebook paper, I wrote my name using a “Last, First. Middle Initial” format using a No. 2 pencil. I then wrote the name again directly next to the first. This process was repeated 8,783 times. Once the end of the paper had been reached, I returned to the top and continued writing in between the previous lines. The number of times the name was written is equal to the number of days I had been alive at the time the work was made.
